The dishwasher (10) has a circulation pump (20) for pumping a cleaning liquid which is delivered on a dish which is to be cleaned, where the speed of the pump is controllable. A control device (40) adjusts the speed of the circulation pump for a rinsing process depending on measurement results of temperature sensors (102, 108) and sensors (100, 104, 106, 110, 112) which measure the rinsing process characterizing parameter e.g. temperature and concentration of cleaning agent. The control device changes the time period of rinsing process depending on measurement results of sensors. An independent claim is also included for a method for rinsing dishes.
