The compressor (1) has a four/two way valve (4) e.g. electrically actuated valve, alternately conducting a drive-side pressure medium i.e. cooling water, into drive side working chambers (5, 6) and working surfaces. A drive-side working surface of the compressor is designed as a diaphragm (8) of a diaphragm pump (7). The diaphragm drives the compressor, which is arranged as a pressure generator at a drive side for a pressure system. A piston (9) of the compressor forms a structural unit with the diaphragm of the pump. The diaphragm is subjected on both sides with the pressure medium.
