The system has a navigation device (1) for producing image data, where the image data has pictogram data. A display device (10) displays the image data as an image map. The pictogram data forms a representative pictogram for multiple interesting objects. An input device (11) selects the representative pictogram, and the navigation device produces an additional image graphic data for multiple interesting objects on selection of the representative pictogram. The additional image data are assigned to an edge region of the image map. An independent claim is also included for a method for displaying of interesting objects.
