The method involves testing an optical non-corrective viewing glass (5) for optical defects e.g. spherical aberration, using an aberrometer. Manufacturing requirements for the viewing glass are modified and/or adjusted based on the optical defects. A spatial coherent light is passed through the viewing glass. Emergent light radiation from the viewing glass is analyzed by a Shack-Hartmann sensor (7). A flat wave front is produced based on a point light source i.e. collimating achromatic lens (3). An imaging process is performed at the sensor, using a Kepler telescope (6). An independent claim is also included for a device for manufacturing and/or testing a viewing glass for industrial safety glasses.
