Increasing pH-value of acidic water by adding a neutralization agent, which is in suspended form, over a distributor device, is claimed, where: the process takes place in at least two stages in such a way that the concentration of the neutralization agent is adjusted according to the pH value, and at low pH values the concentration of the neutralization agent is highly adjusted, than at higher pH values; and the dissolving speed of the neutralization agent depends upon the determined pH value.
