The element has a base (1) supporting a decoration portion (2), where the base is sectionally provided with a coating of thin wood such as burl wood. The coating includes a thin wood layer formed on a textile material such as fleece (3). The thin wood layer is formed on a carrier using adhesive (4) i.e. synthetic resin. Thickness of the wood layer is in a range of 0.2-0.4 mm. The wood layer is permeable for light or transparent. A thin light foil is arranged between the carrier and the wood layer or between the base and the carrier.
