The body (1) has a cylindrical shaft (16) provided for sliding on an animal drinking valve (10), and a spacer part (18) radially spaced in relation to a valve longitudinal axis. The spacer part surrounds a free end of an actuating pin (14) at the valve in an installation condition of the body, where the free end projects from a valve housing (24). A projection or pin (20) is provided for attaching the body at the housing and transferred into a locking position due to shifting of the shaft opposite to the housing along the axis. An independent claim is also included for an animal drinking valve with a valve housing and an actuating pin.
