The method involves displaying registration inquiry signal by using a display (4) of a telephone terminal (1) during identification of an existence of an initial operation of the terminal. Data records corresponding to a telephone number of the terminal, a telephone terminal code, telephone terminal identification and a telephone number preset by a terminal manufacturer/distributor during identification of approval from a memory (11). The records are transmitted by using a short message service functional unit (7) of the terminal to the number preset by the manufacturer/distributor. An independent claim is also included for a device for registration of consumer- and telephone terminal data.
