The shaft has a cold formed region exhibiting high stability than that of a ring-shaped molding blank (1) manufactured from standard steel. A transition region (32) with two different wall diameters (Q3) and two different inner diameters (D4) and/or outer diameters is provided along a direction of a longitudinal axis of the shaft. The wall thickness and inner and/or outer diameters of the molding blank is changed during cold transformation towards the shaft along an entire wall surface of the shaft. A bolt (5) is manufactured from a cold deformable material i.e. steel. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method for manufacturing a drive shaft (2) a device for implementing a method for manufacturing a drive shaft.
