The motor (1) has a housing (2) with an inorganic, non-metallic coating (6) at an external side (5), where the coating is made of a material that is selected from a group consisting of ceramic, metallic oxide, metallic nitride, metallic oxynitride, metallic carbide, metallic fluoride, metallic sulfide and carbon. The coating has silicon oxide, silicon nitride and silicon oxynitride as main components and has a thickness in the range of 3 to 10 micrometers. The coating is hydrophobic, and the housing is made of steel or light metal i.e. aluminum.
