The method involves providing an electronic control unit (6) for controlling drive train components. A drive speed is predetermined by the control unit during starting a moment source (3), where the drive speed is around a predetermined small value fractionally larger than a speed of an input shaft of an output drive (5). A drive moment of the moment source is turned to the drive by a controllable transmission element (4) i.e. starting clutch, by increasing transmitted moment. The transmitted moment is increased by closing the transmission element.
