The device (1) has a selective amplifier (6) for determining a parameter, which is correlated with an electrical field to be determined, and a distance between the device and a medium. An ultrasonic distance measuring device (8) determines the distance between the device and the medium for contactless determination of the electrical field. The selective amplifier determines a current induced and/or caused by the electrical field to be determined.
