Pigment composition (A) comprises 3,6-bis-(4-chloro-phenyl)-2,5-dihydro-pyrrolo[3,4-c]pyrrole-1,4-dione (I), and substituted dihydro-pyrrolo[3,4-c]pyrrole-1,4-dione compounds (II) and (III), where: (A) has an average particle size (d 5 0) of 10-60 nm; at least 5 volume% of (A) has a particle size of greater than 70 nm; (A) is obtained by reacting succinic acid ester (1 mol) with a mixture (2 mol) of 4-chlorbenzonitrile (a) and a nitrile compound (IV); and the molar ratio of (a) and (IV) is 99.5-0.5 to 85-15. Pigment composition (A) comprises 3,6-bis-(4-chloro-phenyl)-2,5-dihydro-pyrrolo[3,4-c]pyrrole-1,4-dione (I), and substituted dihydro-pyrrolo[3,4-c]pyrrole-1,4-dione compounds of formulae (II) and (III), where: the average particle size (d 50) of (II) and (III) is 10-60 nm; at least 5 volume% of (I)-(III) exhibits particle size of greater than 70 nm; (A) is obtained by reacting succinic acid ester (1 mol) with a mixture (2 mol) of 4-chlorbenzonitrile (a) and a nitrile compound of formula (IV); and molar ratio of (a) and (IV) is 99.5-0.5 to 85-15.
