The cladding element (1) has a marginal strip (5c) bordering at a center piece (2) that is bent in two pats in different directions. A bending is directed behind a rear side and bordering the center piece is carried out by two opposite peripheries of the marginal strips arranged on the center piece around at an angle of approximately one hundred eighty degree. A clamping element is brought into a recess (10) in a direction perpendicular to the rear side of the center piece and is accommodated in form-fit and force-fit manner for assembly of the cladding element.
