The device (100) has a detection device (12) for detecting total power consumption values of power consumptive devices (10a, 10b) for two different condition combinations of operating conditions e.g. switched on condition, of the power consumptive devices. An information sending device (14) sends or receives information about the operating condition of the power consumptive devices by a communication connection (16). A determination device (18) determines the power consumption by using the total power consumption values and the information about the operating condition.
