The teat cup comprises a head (4) with a teat introduction opening (12), a hose section with a teat reception space (18) and an adjacent internal space (20). The head space (16) in the teat cup is connected to the atmosphere via a vent, preferably in the form of an air inlet nozzle. A novel feature is the channel on the outer circumference of the head, which is open to the vent nozzle. The curved channel is approximately coaxial with the cup axis (24) and extends over only part of the circumference, over an angle of about 90[deg] .
