The device (100) has a signal generator (110) formed in such a manner that pressure difference is converted into a signal, which is observed by human sense organs, without external energy during leakage. The signal generator is an acoustic signal generator according to a type of vent hole, and is formed as a line connector e.g. line socket (106). The signal generator is formed as a line accessory according to type of a tire valve. A connector is provided at the generator for connecting to a crankcase-vent pipe (102) of an internal combustion engine. An independent claim is also included for a method for detecting and displaying leakage at gas-guiding line.
