The internal combustion engine (101) has an engine block (102) with a cylinder and a piston assigned to the cylinder. An injector device has multiple holes for fuel injection into the cylinder and an inlet device (103) for a loaded air. The inlet device has an inlet channel and an assigned inlet valve. An outlet device (105) is provided with an outlet channel and an outlet valve. An attached exhaust gas system is provided with a particle filter (107), where the cylinder has a cylinder head and cylinder borings that are less than 110 millimeters.
