The device (1) has a tread plate (4) supported on a base plate (2) and shiftable in a periodic and/or aperiodic motion by a drive device (10). The tread plate is connected with the base plate by vertical guides (3a, 3b) that are stationarily arranged on the base plate, so that the supported tread plate follows a stroke movement caused by the drive device. The drive device includes a drive shaft (11a) on which an eccentric tappet (12a) is arranged. A roller (13a) is arranged at a lower surface (4') of the tread plate, and rollable on an outer surface of the tappet.
