The clamping device (1) has a clamping body (2) to which a sample is attachable, and a clamping fixture (4) and a clamp for detachably fixing the sample at the clamping body. The clamping fixture is fixedly arranged at the clamping body for fixing a section of the sample at the clamping body, and a clamp is moveably arranged opposite to the clamping body. The clamp has a clamping clip for accommodating the section of the sample, where the clip is arranged above an arm that is pivotable opposite to the body. An independent claim is also included for a method for measuring shining of a braid-like sample.
