The thermodynamically operating engine has an injection device (4) arranged within a pipe for propellant and oxidant. The operating engine is provided in the form of one-sided open pipe or prismatic hollow body, particularly a detonation tube (1). Compression of the propellant-oxidant mixture is achieved at the filling of combustion chamber with fresh gas by retaining the flow at the closed side of a combustion chamber (2).
