The arm has a circulating phase adjustable sheet conveying system with gripper carriers (2.1, 3.1) for adjusting a format of a sheet (4), where the sheet is linearly conveyable step-by-step on a sheet conveyor by the gripper carriers. Front edges of the sheet are fixable with front edge gripper systems (2), and rear edges of the sheet are fixable with rear edge gripper systems (3). A circulating flexible sheet guiding element i.e. sheet guiding cylinder (1), is arranged below sheet conveying paths. The gripper carriers are drivable by circulating extension arm chains (2.2, 3.2).
