The lifting platform has four lifting columns (1,2,3,4), where two lifting columns are arranged on a side of a motor vehicle and other two lifting columns are arranged on another side of the motor vehicle. The lifting columns are propelled electrically and are coupled with each other by an electrical synchronization control. A frequency converter is provided for definite leveling of the lifting columns. The frequency converter reduces their input power. The frequency converter is individually connected to the lifting columns, whose lifting position lies outside a predetermined tolerance area. An independent claim is included for a method for leveling the height position of multiple electrically propelled lifting columns of a motor vehicle lifting platform by an electrical synchronization control.
