The device (1) has a housing (2) extending along a transport path (S), where a section of a container e.g. plastic bottle, is transported within the housing. An opening (8) supplies air around the housing, and the housing has a gap (12) extending along the transport path and dimensioned in such a manner that a region of the container passes through the gap and the section of the container does not pass through the gap. The housing is provided in such a manner that air stream is partially directed towards the gap. An independent claim is also included for a method for transporting container along a preset transport path.
