The unit (10) has angular fork arms (12, 14) with upright brackets (16) guided at a rear side in a horizontal guide at a fork carrier. A drive device is provided at the fork carrier for shifting of the fork arms at the carrier. A horizontal toothed rod is connected with each upright bracket of the fork arms. A toothed wheel (34) contacting with a toothing of the toothed rod is supported at the fork carrier and connected with a drive device. The carrier is arranged in an electro or hydraulic motor (38).
