The device has a lower bowl for receiving a clay lump, and an upper bowl (1) pressed on the clay lump present in the lower bowl up to a given distance of the bowls to each other. The clay lump presses into a mould provided by female moulds (6). A bowl wall of the upper and/or the lower bowl is strengthened at sides by end strips (2). A filler (4) is made of a hard metal alloy, a hard metal or a hard and temperature resistant plastic, and is made of a steel i.e. V2A steel. The filler serves for the stabilization of the device during cleaning. An independent claim is also included for a method for producing a filler of a device for pressing of clay.
