The power tool (1) has a monitoring unit (10) monitoring a parameter of the tool. An electric motor (2) is provided for operating the tool. A switch (5) is arranged on a housing (4) of the tool. A working filed light (9) e.g. LED, is provided for optically, haptically and acoustically displaying a status of the parameter lying outside a predetermined limit, where the filed light is controlled using a microprocessor (8). The display is controlled by changing color and illumination of the filed light.
