The method involves detecting wheel speed using a sensor under retrieval of a wheel speed signal e.g. rotational speed signal. A speed signal is determined on the basis of the wheel speed signal, and an output signal is estimated. A portion of the output signal is received and the regulation is executed by a regulation unit based on the output signal and a regulation algorithm. A temporal course of the speed signal is determined based on the wheel speed signal for determining a slip value, acceleration value and/or delay value iteratively from the temporal course by an evaluation unit.
