The method involves connecting an injection valve (18) with a high pressure reservoir (17) for measuring fuel in a combustion chamber of an internal-combustion engine (19). An acceleration sensor (21) is arranged at the high pressure reservoir to detect an operational characteristic of the injection valve and a quantity control valve (15). Impact sound vibrations are detected with the acceleration sensor and partially produced by the injection valve and the quantity control valve of the engine to develop the detected impact sound vibrations on the operating characteristics. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a computer program with program code to perform a method for controlling of an internal-combustion engine (2) a device for controlling an internal-combustion engine.
