Coolant flow controlling method for internal combustion engine of motor vehicle, involves diverting flow of coolant when temperature of engine lies between lower and upper threshold values, where lower value is larger than upper value
The method involves diverting a flow of a coolant when temperature (T-MOT) of an internal combustion engine (12) lies between a lower threshold value and an upper threshold value, where the lower threshold value is larger than the upper threshold value. The upper threshold value is formed as a sum of the current temperature of the internal combustion engine and positive offsets. The lower threshold value and the upper threshold value are determined based on a direction of change of a transmission oil temperature. An independent claim is also included for a device for controlling a flow of a coolant of an internal combustion engine of a motor vehicle.
