The drive has a transverse flux motor (1) rotatable with a machine element for driving an adjusting element, where the motor includes a rotor (3) and a stator (4). An inductive power transformer (22) includes a primary coil (23) at a machine frame and a secondary coil (24) at the motor. The primary coil and the secondary coil are arranged opposite to each other. A number of turns of the secondary coil is greater than a number of turns of the primary coil. The adjusting element is driven via a planetary gear (2) by the motor, and the primary coil is connected to a voltage regulator.
