The method involves inserting a fastening unit (10) into a molding tool and/or a mold insert of an injection molding machine such that the unit is centered and locked, over a fastening unit gripper (11) with a magnet element (12) comprising a relocator (13), a guide bush (14) and a spring element (15). The gripper is aligned with a reversed magnet element and tensioned spring element at the bush, and the magnet element is moved forward by the relocator. The unit is released and transferred from the magnet element during simultaneous discharge of the spring element. An independent claim is also included for a device for supplying and positioning fastening units during manufacturing of plastic components by injection molding.
