The unit has a set of drive shafts (1, 20) driven by a set of drive assemblies. An output shaft (7) drives a propeller, and the drive shaft (1) is connected with a pinion (10) over a set of self synchronized-shifting (SSS) clutches (2, 12) in a force-fit manner such that the pinion drives the output shaft in forward direction and backward direction based on the connection with the clutches. The drive shaft (20) is connected with a pinion (25) over a self synchronized-shifting clutch (21) in a force-fit manner such that the pinion (25) drives the output shaft in the forward direction.
