The device has a belt (1) guided between bend pulleys (4, 5) and a tension roller (8) suspendedly loaded with a counter weight (9) in a loop, where the clamping device is arranged in a lower strand of a belt conveyor. Maximum clamping path is spatially defined by a construction latitude existing between the lower strand and a base. The belt in lower strand is guided in another loop, which is defined above through bend pulleys (5, 6) and below through a hanged tension roller (7). The rollers are connected with each other using a crossbar (10), in which the counter weight is hanged.
