The method involves coupling a double-fed asynchronous generator (G) with an energy supply network at a stator side and at a rotor side by a rotor side converter (Mpr), an intermediate circuit (Cd) and a network side converter (Npr). The coupling between a stator of the asynchronous generator and the energy supply network is disconnected during an occurrence of failure in the energy supply network by locking a stator switch (Es) that includes a power semiconductor component. The magnetic flow of the asynchronous generator is synchronized with a defective energy supply network. An independent claim is also included for an electric circuit comprising an asynchronous generator.
