The method involves introducing a medium (4) into a ring gap between an outer wall of a small cylinder (1) and an inner wall of a large cylinder (2) that is arranged coaxial to the small cylinder. The cylinders are rotated around a common axis (3) with respective rotational frequencies and are connected with a control system (5), such that the frequencies are adjusted independent of each other. One frequency is reacted to another frequency as the square of an inner radius (R2) the large cylinder to the square of an outer radius (R1) of the small cylinder. An independent claim is also included for a device for executing a method for generating an elongation flow in a medium.
