The fastening unit has a retaining dowel (2) slotted in an insertion direction of the fastening unit. The retaining dowel is insertable in an opening at a retaining part. Latches (3) are fixed to the retaining dowel behind the opening. The latches comprise a flexible material e.g. plastic or rubber, within defined limits, where the flexible material is filled into slots (6) of the retaining dowel. The flexible material is applied as a sealing (7) surrounding the retaining dowel. An independent claim is also included for a method for producing a fastening unit.
