Catalyst comprises particulate metallic carrier and at least one catalytically active layer, where: the catalytically active layer is at least partially arranged on the particulate metallic carrier; and the catalytically active layer comprises a metal oxide catalyst. Independent claims are included for: (1) a method for preparing the catalyst comprising providing the catalytically active layer on the particulate metallic carrier; (2) an exhaust gas purification system comprising the catalyst; and (3) a method for purifying exhaust gas comprising contacting the catalyst with waste gas at 250-800[deg] C.
