The method involves providing an ink tank with a print head that is equipped with a holder for closing a fluid outlet (9) in a container (20) containing fluid (8) i.e. ink. The container present in a vacuum chamber (30) is placed such that a non-closed air exchange opening is present in the fluid. A vacuum is formed over a connection system (32) and a valve (35) of an air inlet channel (34) using a vacuum pump (31) by sucking gas contained in a closed cavity of the chamber. The fluid is vented, and the fluid and the ink tank are exposed to the vacuum. An independent claim is also included for a device of filling an ink tank with an ink.
