The method involves transmitting control data packets from a subscriber (10) i.e. manager, to another subscriber (11) i.e. agent. Useful data packets are transmitted from the subscriber (11) to the subscriber (10). Two bursts transmitted by the subscribers are separated by a defined time interval. The control data packets are modified during detection of loss of the useful data packets over preset parts, by the subscriber (10). The control data packets are modified such that length of the useful data packets and/or the bursts is reduced and/or the time interval is increased. An independent claim is also included for a communication system, comprising a subscriber.
