The device (10) has an Ethernetadapter (6) connecting an information processing device (9) to a data network by a wired connection (11), where a wireless local area network (7) connects the information processing device to the data network by a wireless connection (16). A packet switching system (8) within the device (10) is switched between the information processing device and the Ethernetadapter. A disconnecting unit (12) disconnects the wireless connection when the wired connection is formed with the data network.
