The device has a rolling automat (2) provided with a forming roller (3). A pipe (1) rolled on the forming roller is moved in a longitudinal direction of the forming roller, and a welding device (4) is provided for welding the rolled pipe. The forming roller with the rolled pipe is moved from the rolling automat by an ejection device. The welding device is designed as a laser welding device and is arranged in an effective area of the relocatability of the forming roller. A control device is arranged for an ejection device. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a pipe.
