The device i.e. screw propeller (10), has a hub (12) with which the propeller is rotatably supported on an axis (13) provided in a center of a tube (11). The propeller is carried by a retaining arm (14), which is fastened to a tube wall. Blades (15) of the propeller are not in contact with the tube wall. The propeller is shifted into rotation by a volume flow flown through the tube, where the flow is strongly pulsed upstream of the propeller. The device is designed as a freely pivotable rotary mounting unit in the form of the screw propeller, where the mounting unit is equipped in a line. An independent claim is also included for a hydraulic pump for conveying a hydraulic pressurizing medium with a pump housing.
