The ballast has a printed circuit board (2) exhibiting a layout and fitted with a central integrated circuit (IC) (6). A lamp inductor (11) is arranged on the printed circuit board, where the printed circuit board is used as a universal platform and the layout is used for formation of a dimmable and static ballast. The printed circuit board is coated with copper on a side, and the layout is formed such that different wirings are used in a connection pin. Contact points of the printed circuit board for an alternative assembly are partially connected with each other.
