The table has an extendable tabletop (3) comprising a horizontally movable thin cover plate (2) provided at a plate segment (1), where the cover plate is bent at two sides. The cover plate is dimensioned such that a small offset is provided between the cover plate and the plate segment. A leg or a supporting frame is fastened at the extendable tabletop. Sides of the plate segment and the cover plate form a pointed angle with respective plate surface. The supporting frame is extendable by horizontally parallel running moving parts.
