The device has a spiral-shaped or concentrically running main track structure, and a spiral-shaped or concentrically running secondary track structure that is arranged on a side of the main track structure. The secondary track structure exhibits disruptions, which vary an optically detectable surface property of a recording medium in such a manner that auxiliary information is produced on the recording medium. The storage medium exhibits a predetermined surface level, and the optically detectable surface property is a deviation from the surface level between two disruptions. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a device for manufacturing a master device (2) a method for manufacturing a master device.
