The arrangement (3) has a bumper cross beam (5) running in a vehicle transverse direction within a vehicle front area (1). The cross beam has an energy-absorbing deformation element (7) which covers a front-sided partial area (10) of the bumper cross beam in a vehicle height direction (Z). The deformation element is a hollow profile part that is made from a sheet metal material. The height of the deformation element corresponds maximally to a height difference between a lower edge of the cross beam in a central area (11) and an upper edge of the cross beam within lateral end areas (13).
