The thermal power plant is provided with two consecutive steam cycles. A liquid with a specific condensation capacity is evaporated at a particular temperature and a vapor pressure at that temperature during the former steam cycle. The steam is expanded to another temperature and another vapor pressure by a prime mover, where it releases the quantity of heat to latter steam cycle in a heat exchanger. The liquid is again brought to the initial vapor pressure by a feed pump and to the former temperature by supplying heat.
