Use of pharmaceutical formulation comprising a matrix with protein adsorptive properties that can adhere to volatile impurities, for the prevention or alleviation of symptoms by volatile body sensitizer, infectious or toxic impurities, is claimed, where the formulation is suitable for intranasal application, and as a barrier for preventing or reducing systemic absorption of impurities in the body.
