The method involves receiving a send-request of a customer with a file name of video or audio data. Desired data is encoded and sent to the customer. Customer-and data-related playing information is received, where the information contains customer identification and one or more file names. Transmission of data-specific decoded keys to the customer, is triggered, where transmission is necessary to decode and play before-dispatched-encoded data. Storage of the information and/or an account of rented or sold data to the customer, is triggered by the dispatch of the keys.
